The Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County is proud to be the 2019 Swine Week Recipient! Funds raised from Swine Week will benefit the construction and programming of the new Teen Center addition at our Memorial Park Club, located at N. 36th and Western in Oklahoma City.
ABOUT BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF OKLAHOMA COUNTY
The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County is to inspire and enable all youth, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. The organization has a current membership of 3,854 youth, 6-18 years old, serving up to 800 each day after school and during summer and school breaks. Professional staff and volunteers work toward three primary outcomes for the youth served: that they graduate from high school with a plan for the future, live healthy lifestyles, and become contributing members of the community.
ABOUT THE TEEN CENTER ADDITION
Our goal is to continue to expand our reach to teenage youth in our community by providing them their own space and special programing geared towards helping them make a plan for the future. The new 6,122 square foot addition to our Memorial Park flagship Club will allow us to increase our high school membership by over 500! We currently have a waitlist at all of our Clubs, including Memorial Park, so this space will allow us to serve more kids, more often, with greater impact. The Teen Center will also include a recording studio and art room, an education center, a technology lab and a large common area for socializing and spending time with mentors and volunteers.
