History

The Boys & Girls Club of Oklahoma County, Inc. was founded in early 1995.  The Club is governed by a volunteer board of directors and staffed by professional  youth development employees.

Our programs are a mix of activities developed by the National Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the local Club staff and volunteers.

The Club offers our members a sense of belonging, competence, usefulness and influence.

The Boys and Girls Clubs is “The Positive Place for Kids”, and we are making a difference in the community by providing a safe, positive place for our members to spend their out of school time.  Members can resist the allure of gang involvement, substance abuse, and other delinquent behaviors.

Though other organizations may have many similar programs, Boys & Girls Clubs of America is the only national organization that offers daily programs for youth in their own neighborhoods.  Certified Boys & Girls Clubs Professionals provide leadership, assisted by competent part-time and volunteer staff.
